I first got a taste of this when i came to Madeira in summer 2005, i had it at my hotels welcome meeting and i really loved it! Although i dont eat nuts it still is a very nice cake, its rich and tastes strong so its best to have in small bits otherwise it will get too sickly. But overall a lovely cake which is tradional to madeira and is like nothing you can buy in the sops back home! :) |
